Alaska Halfway House Bed & Breakfast,Cabin Rental, Bunkhouse, and Campgrounds
Nestled in the middle of the Wrangell St. Elias National Park you will find our remote and very peaceful setting. We are conveniently located at the halfway point (mile 27) of the McCarthy Road, stop for the night to get away from the dust, relax and enjoy the remoteness! We are off the grid, and have to make our own electric, which we do by solar or generator. Spend the night with us and enjoy the wilderness. Travel the McCarthy Road into the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve with over 13.2 million acres to explore.
While you are here you might catch a glimpse of Amos and Andy, our Ravens, as they fly by. Or hear the call of the Great Horned Owls at night. Or maybe you'd like to feed the Grey Jays from your hands. Or maybe you'd like to sit by the Chokosna River bank and enjoy the beauty of the wilderness.
Let the flowing waters of the Chokosna River lull you to sleep at night, and after a good nights rest you can get an early start on the road as you journey your way to McCarthy/Kennicott or back to Chitina. Maybe on your way you'll catch a glimpse of a Bear, Moose, or a Bald Eagle soaring up high!
After a full day of adventure exploring the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, and the McCarthy, Kennicott/Kennecott area, and being around people, journey your way back down the McCarthy Road to us, Mile 27 McCarthy Road, where the lifestyle is much simpler.
